Fear and Loathing in the Church of God

If the church that is sent to proclaim the Gospel is paralyzed by fear—fear of loss of privilege, fear of change, fear of the other, fear of loss of respect, fear of taking a stand, fear of rejection by others—how are we going to avoid sinking? How can we ever join Christ, standing astride the wind and wave, and witness to God’s power and mercy?

For the Night Is Dark and Full of Terrors

The night is dark and full of terrors. But here we gather in the deepest part of the night to proclaim the coming of the light. Here in the depths of the night, we bear witness to the light of the Resurrection.
